MOD4 v.2

The “MOD” Series v.2 audio racks have been engineered to meet the needs of discerning audiophiles. Our customers know the value and quality of high-end components, and they deserve racks and accessories that not only match the aesthetics of their listening space, but also serve to dial in the whole experience. The components of our MOD series v.2 let the active components perform at their very best, creating a more ideal platform for performance than would otherwise be achievable.

The “MOD” series v.2 audio rack is a modular system which employs resonance damping within its fine hardwood exterior. The newly designed shelves are constructed from solid hardwood with chambers within the shelves’ inner core. Unlike the sealed design of the original version 1, the version 2 open chambers that are uniquely designed to allow users to fill with materials of their choice.

At Core Audio Designs, we recommend the use of multiple materials to increase the damping effect. The shelves/inserts arrive preloaded with 45 parts lead shot and 55 parts clay and sand. The mixture of lead, clay, and sand, was selected for their mass loading and low resonant properties.

The goal of our design for the “MOD” series v.2 audio rack was to build a cost effective, high mass, resonance free structure that performs like a mechanical diode draining unwanted resonance from transformers, motors, and other interferences. At Core Audio Designs, we have proudly attained that goal.
